Described by Mijas Councillor Mario Bravo, as having a “spectacular atmosphere,” this hugely successful event pulled in a fantastic crowd from start to finish. With the weather just right—not too hot, not too cold—it was the perfect day to be out and about. The bustling market stalls proved irresistible, tempting passers-by on the boulevard to stop, browse, and happily dip into their pockets! Adding to the buzz was the lively beat of percussion group Drang, whose rhythms kept spirits high as the race got underway. It was fast, fun, and fiercely competitive—though thankfully everyone walked away a winner, with prizes of one kind or another handed out all around. Many of the waiters were proudly sponsored by their local supporters, and every euro raised helped make the day even more meaningful. By the end of it all, an impressive total of just over €5,500 had been collected—funds that will go a long way in supporting the Lions’ charitable work this year. All in all, it was another brilliant collaboration between the Lions and the Mijas Department of Extranjeros. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, cheered from the sidelines, and to the dedicated Lions members and Town Hall staff who made this fantastic event happen!
