Then saddest news of a family rendered homeless and bereaved through a house fire at Christmas had the Lions handing many useful household items and clothes to kindly Angie of Ibex and her team who were helping with the co-ordination of the rescue. . Our deepest sympathy goes to all the family.

On January 2nd, Food was collected from ALDI and this was then organised and later a collection was made from Bridges Bar where a huge raffle had provided the funds for the food together with the donations from many of our sponsors.

FROM 23RD December the La Cala Lions have been busily doing what they do best throughout the year! Helping those in need! In December began a terrific community effort from both all Lions and supporters throughout the area. Special thanks are due to Liz and friends at Bridges bar Riviera, Miraflores Ladies golfers and Miraflores tennis club, Marbella Golf and Country Club, Queen Bees Knitting Group, ALDI, La Salacia Restaurant and IBEX. Their efforts allowed the Lions to provide food, toys, special treats and smiles on faces to 51 underprivileged families. Thanks also to Caritas, for help with distribution. 51 bags of goodies and food were lined up outside the La Cala Charity Shop together with dozens of fresh chicken, sugar and dry goods. These were then transported to Caritas for redistribution.
